INTRODUCTION TO AMTA

The American Musical Theatre Academy of London is London's newest and most exciting place to study Musical Theatre and Acting. We are American in that we put a strong emphasis on the American style, take our students to New York to train with Broadway professionals mid-year and we train in a positive, 'No Pain – No Gain' manner.

Our Principal Kenneth Avery-Clark, whose West End credits include Sweet Charity, The Producers, The Drowsy Chaperone, Ragtime, The Music Man, and 125th Street, has assembled some of the top West End actors, choreographers and directors to teach at the academy. Who better to train you than those who know first-hand what it takes to get where you want to go!

Our student selection is based on whether we think that you will go straight into the industry once your time with us is finished. A large number of our graduates are working in the industry today including the West End, television, cruise ships and tours.

We also offer in-house, FREE, personal coaching. If any student ever feels stuck, overwhelmed, prone to compare him or herself to other students, or is suffering in any way from negative thoughts either professionally or personally, they can see our in-house co-active coach, Christie Miller, who is experienced in helping students find their own way to deal with issues which may be holding them back from getting the most out of their training. This service is completely confidential and free of charge.

We want you to be able to train with us, so we make sure we make it easy for you by offering some of the most affordable fees in London, and a payment plan to help you make your dreams a reality. We don't charge you to apply to our school either. Why should you have to pay to fill out a form? We offer all applicants an opportunity to audition for us! We charge a small audition fee but you will receive hand-written feedback on all disciplines of your audition.

Training takes place at our own studios near Old Street in London, a short hop to London's vibrant West End theatres and culture.

We look forward to welcoming you!
